Before

The area we were given was a medium size L-shaped room with a balcony door from one edge. On the L angle, there is a door connecting the space to the rest of the house, and a bow window on the other edge. The client requested to turn the space into a dining area, a living room, and place they can use as a library/work from home option.

Challenges

The tricky part of this project were three-folds. First we had to basically squeeze three spaces into one. Second, we had to preserve the walkway for the balcony. Finally and more importantly, we needed to assure that the bow window remain showcased as the centerpiece design of the room.

After

Our answer to the challenges was to reflect the cozy atmosphere of the house inside of the room that we were tasked with completing.

In order to accomplish our task, we used live plants as décor pieces and subsequently utilized minimalistic luxury furniture. The furniture set commanded the place yet left space for your eyes to gaze. High-end fabric used on the couches and dining chairs coupled with the marbled-top of the coffee table and dining table gave the aura of luxury. While the utilization of comparatively small pieces and minimalistic design left space instead of clutter.

Results

Subsequently, this resulted in an end-product of a cozy living room, an elegant dining room, and a comfortable work space. All within the boundaries of this little room. The furniture pieces combined with the curtains and lighting fixture produced a special ambience that fitted well with the characteristics of both the space and the house as a whole. Ultimately, giving our client a cozy and elegant place to call home.
